sub reports

i have a report that contains two linked sub reports, the main report is
"Projects report" the other two reports are "design Projects" and
"construction projects", some projects are design some are construction and
some are both at the projectID footer i sum up the cost of design and
construction to get the total cost of each project but the problem appears
with those projects that are either design or construction because it sums up
the in one sub report and doesn't find the other sub report so i get #error
Any suggestions, thanx
