I have put my work email on my Mac by setting it up as an IMAP account on my Mac. I can receive emails and can see my inbox. However, I cannot send emails and I cannot see any of my subfolders that I created on outlook. I move all of my emails into a subfolder when I read them so I can't retrieve any of my emails from my Mac!

Please help!

I have put my work email on my Mac by setting it up as an IMAP account on
my Mac. I can receive emails and can see my inbox. However, I cannot send
emails and I cannot see any of my subfolders that I created on outlook. I

Two things to check: on the Mac if there is a subfolder you'll see a small
triangle to the left of the parent folder. You need to click on that
triangle to expand its contents.

If there is no triangle, you may need to "Subscribe" to the folder. IMAP
gives you the option of only displaying some folders, and at times it will
default to not showing you everything. You can view the full folder list by
clicking on the account name in your folder list, which will show all
available folders on the right. Folders that are not subscribed-to will be
in gray, and can be subscribed to via control-click.

If they're still not showing up, try control-clicking the server name in
your folder list and choosing Receive Complete Folder List.

One more thought: have you tried adding your Exchange account as an Exchange
account rather than an IMAP account? If your server supports this type of
access, you may find it more reliable than IMAP.

Finally, you glossed over an issue with sending email. What is the problem
there? Do you have an SMTP server?
