Using XP MOD, I connected SQL Server 2000 (personal
edition) to an Access 2000 (format) .adp I launch an
unbound (mainform) form that contains a subform control
displaying a datasheet (whose recordsource is an SQL
string the the subform recordsource property). The
datasheet displays records that are created with the
Form_Open event of the mainform. I can add and delete
records in the datasheet. Then I close the mainform, or
even the MS Access application. When I relaunch the
mainform, the subform contains the exact data that was
displayed when the mainform was closed and not the data
expected from the Form_Open event. Yes, the Form_Open
event is inserting data to the same table that the
datasheet is bound to.
However, the subform datasheet will display the correct
data if I then (1) click Records|Refresh on the menuitem
bar, or (2) click Records|Remover Filter, or (3) close the
mainform a second time and relaunch it.
In between the steps above, I did inspect the table and
the data was always as expected.
