subform interaction question?

Hi,

I've got a subform in a main form.

When I click on the farthest left row a small black arrow pointer appears and
highlights the entire row black. How do I make it so it does not set the
entire
row black.

Also: after the first row has a black pointer arrow on it when I click on
another
row all the rows between the first pointed row and the next click on row
become
completely black, so a whole region is black. How do i set the form so that
only one line is clicked on at a time and the pointer arrow appears on the
most recently clicked on line?
