Subform won't show data in Access 2007

I have an Access 2003 form with a subform that links fine and shows records
appropriately when running in Access 2003. When I open the form in Access
2007, the subform won't populate. There is no link between the main form and
subform. The subform just shows all the records in a table (whose contents
are set earlier in the application). I use a query to sort and arrange the
fields, so the subform's RecordSource is a query.

With the form up, and its empty subform showing, I can move the form aside
and then run that same RecordSource query. All the records come up fine,
though the subform is still empty. I've tried Requerying the suborm, both in
code and from the Immediate Window. I've tried Refresh. I've tried deleting
the subform's RecordSource, and then reapplying it. The subform, by the way,
shows all the appropriate control names and formatting, just no data. If I
ask for a field's contents from the Immediate Window, they all come back
Null.

There's got to be something different about the way Access 2007 handles
Access 2003 forms. The Access 2007 has all the latest Service Packs, and at
least 2 HotFixes have been applied.

Why won't the data show?

The only time I've seen something like that was because the
subform control's LinkMaster/Child properties were set when
they were spposed to be empty.

The LinkChild and LinkMaster are empty; I've checked them several times. I
also converted the MDB to Access 2007, just to see if a conversion would
change something, but the problem remained.

What I've got left to try is rebuilding the form, in Access 2007, but still
saving as Access 2003.
