Subject field font looks weird.

Ever since I upgraded my OS to Leopard, I have been having a problem with the look of the font used in the SUBJECT field of Entourage.

I can only describe it as looking ODD. For example, the lower case "g" is cut off in the field as well as other issues such as odd kerning between characters.

I have tried everything I can think of to fix the problem. I cleaned all the font caches on the machine (PowerBook G4), I deleted the font cache in the user/library/preferences/microsoft/ folder and yet the subject line font remains messed up.

Prior to doing all of the above, the calendar items (events listed in calendar) looked this same way, but after doing all the cache clearing etc. that display returned to normal.

All other fonts in the application look fine. The only display problem is the SUBJECT LINE. I am trying to live with it, but it is difficult because the subject line is so hard to read, so the chances of a typo are great simple because many of the characters display so badly.

Is there any way to access the font used for the Subject field? What font is it and where is it accessed from?

The font settings in PREFERENCES have no effect on this field.

Thanks in advance!

None of those solutions solved the problem. :( The font issue also extends to the email address section of sent and received messages making it VERY difficult to read email addresses in the messages.

I sure wish I could fix this. I am starting to consider moving over to Apple Mail instead of Entourage just so I have more control over fonts and can read my Subject lines and email addresses.

I have been using Entourage since it was released way back when. I have never considered switching until now.

The issue is not Entourage but a problem on your computer. I would test in a
new User to see if the font issue is with your base fonts or if the problem
is in your User's folder.

Go to System Preferences --> Create a New User in Accounts. Switch to the
New User by logging out/in or use Fast User Switching. Test Entourage
there. You don't need to enter account info, just test for the problem.

If the problem goes away, then go back to your regular User. Drag your Main
Identity to Shared. Switch back to your test User and drag (it actually
copies) you Identity to the Microsoft User Data folder. Be sure to set
Entourage to work offline or set to leave on server under the options tab in
accounts for the test.

If the problem returns with the Identity, then you know it's your database.
If it goes away then your database is good and the problem is in your User's
folder.
