Subject not changing in meeting updates

I have a user with an interesting issue.

She sent out meeting invitations. They had a subject of "Meeting - Group"
(for example). She then realized she wanted to change the subject to "Meeting
- New Group". She saved and closed, and updates were sent out.

She received acceptances from the invitees, for both the original and the
update, and they have the correct subjects.

However, when she looks in her calendar, she has 2 entries for that meeting
time, both with the same original subject. She should have 1 entry, with the
updated subject. This is in Outlook 2007, fully updated, running on Windows
XP. (She also uses a Mac, and Entourage 2004 shows only 1 meeting, but with
the original subject, not the updated one.) Additionally, if we look at
Outlook Web Access, it also shows 2 meetings with the same original subject.

I don't see any problems with the programs or OS. The only possible problem
I can see is that this particular meeting occurs at the same time as another
meeting. In other words, she has an hour-long meeting set, and this is a
sub-meeting (for a specific group) that takes place at the same time.

Any ideas on why she's getting the odd calendar behavior? So far it hasn't
happened again, but I want to make sure it won't happen again.
