Subject: Portfolio Server 2007 wrap up of Project server 2007 inst

Hi,

I was exploring the possibility of using Portfolio Server 2007 to report on
a number of different installs of Project Server 2007 that would be located
in different countries. Is this a feature of Portfolio server to wrap up this
type of information or does it only work on one Server.

Any thoughts?

Paul,

If you are looking for specific data presented in a top down view then yes,
Project Portfolio Server can be configured to gather data from several
instances (Databases) and present it. I would also recommend looking into
reporting services to do this.

A word of caution here is that gathering information from several instances
is a complex process and should be properly planned out. You will be in need
of a skilled developer to work with the PDI and gather the information. If
the instances are for diverse divisions or departments a flag could be set so
the data does not overlap from instance to instance.
