Substituting Resources with Multiple Skills

Hi!

In Project Server, when substituting one resource for another, can you
search and substitute based on multiple fields? For example, if our
application developer has expertise in 3 different types of apps, can
we search for a substitute app developer based on 2 of these sub-areas
rather than for a "developer" in general?

Yes, but. The but is that Project Server, rather simplistically, requires a
hit on all criteria you select, rather than a "contains" construct.
Therefore, multi-value Resource Outline Codes were introduced in version
2003. If you want this functionality, make sure you've upgraded to Project
Server 2003 and have defined multi-value skill-set codes.

Are you using the Multi Value fields in Custom Enterprise Resource
fields 20 - 29? If so, you should easily be able to do what you need
to do. That feature is available in Project Server 2003 only, btw.
