Subweb password quest

Howdy all.

Server= Apache/Linux with CPanel.

I've created a subweb...no problem.

Here's what I would like to do; I want to create a private page for several thousand customers....but I don't want to have several thousand passwords to the subweb...obviously it would be nuts. It's not that the info contained therein needs to be super secure, rather it's more like special prices for existing clients...stuff like that.

Each existing client already has a customer account number via their monthly billings and they know what it is...or should. ALL the account numbers have a commonality; lets say the all begin with ABC followed by xxxxx digits.

Is there a way that I could set up (easily) password = ABC+ignore xxxxx ?

Inotherwords, all existing clients in essence would be entering the same password (ABC) ?? Is there a way to strip off or ignore the xxxxxx?

I don't need to track them or anything like that, but this would be an easy way for me to have a semi secure subweb for them to view without having to issue passwords to a thousand or more clients.

Does this make sense?

TIA,,

Rob
