Successful installations of VersaCheck 97 in Word 2003?

Repeated attempts at installing this program result in shortcut on desktop
and two related icons in Word. VersaCheck appears in Word menu bar and when
clicked produces a drop-down box. That is the end of all functioning in
VersaCheck.

Two warnings appear when CD is installing VersaCheck: 1: Couldn't retrieve
Word-Program-Directory, and 2: Couldn't retrieve Word Start-Up.

Suggestions would be appreciated.
