Sudden appearance of three extra pages in Word 2003...

Okay, i've now added 10 photos on 10 separate pages to my book in Word 2003,
all in one section. The file is huge, 27 MB, because larger size TIFFs are
recommended for printing purposes. It all seems to be working fairly well,
except that Word seems to have arbitrarily added 3 blank pages in between
the real pages. I've turned on the show hidden print symbols doohicky near
top right but so far i can't find any extra paragraph marks or section
breaks that would explain this. Needless to say i have to figure out how to
delete these 3 extra pages before it goes to the printer.

Any thoughts, Doug, Suzanne...?

all the best!

Thanks, Suzanne! You're right about Normal View making some things eaiser,
but i also ended up with an even greater mess, unable to delete some of my
break marks without also deleting the photo & caption that went with it, it
all went around in circles. I was about to study the page you wrote, but
then another solution occurred to me, In case it helps anyone in the
future, here's what i did. I created a new Word file with the same page
size & margins, then one by one copied my photos & captions (& ONLY the
photos & captions) into the new document, each on a separate page, with a
bit of confusion to be sure. Then i went to the whole book file & deleted
all the photos. And then i copied the entire temporary document into the
whole book file. It seems to have worked perfectly, & all the extra pages
have disappeared.

Best of wishes!
