suddenly frozen on publish - can't get to password prompt

I use FP a lot, and suddenly I can't get it to publish. I tried last night
and no luck, so I shut the computer down and went to bed. Can't get it to
work today either. Here's what I get

adding - the screen cap didn't capture my cursor, but it was an hourglass.
Also, I tried publishing other webs and it happens to all m webs.
