I have an Access application that has been in use for serveral years. Suddenly
we are getting error 3197 when trying to open the database. In the short
term, I can keep replaced the mdb file with one from backup, but it will
get corrupted again. So, I want to try to figure out what is causing this
problem.
A little bit of history: The application was hosted on a Novell server and
we recently switched to a Windows 2003 server. The application is writting
in Access 97. The application stores most of its data using ODBC into an
Oracle database. There are a few local access tables for some temporary
working storage. There are concurrent users of about 3 to 5.
I tried copying the mdb file to the user's C drive, and it still becomes
corrupted, though it seems to "last longer" when running from the C drive.
Any thoughts????
I appricate any direction someone can provide...
