Suddenly I am told I do not have permission to view old mail?

When trying to use the search mail option, I get a blue screen with the
message that I do not have permission. This just started popping up.

You have so few details that no one can help you. Start by stating your
Outlook version, your account type, and exactly what you click to produce the
problem. Include the exact text of any errors you see.
