Suddenly, "save as" takes many seconds for save dialogue to appear

When I try to use "save as" it takes up to 30 seconds for the save
dialogue to appear. This also happens in excel, notepad, and photoshop.
Any ideas on what is wrong? My hard drive is not full.

Thanks...

Right-click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop,
left-click on Disconnect Network Drive, and disconnect any mapped
drives that are not currently available.

This turned out to be a program I had installed called QuickFolders.
Somehow it started making open and save dialogues slow. I never use it
so just deleted it. I discovered this by using msconfig and
systematically eliminating subsets of programs that start at boot.
