SUGG : top left icon should function as close on doubleclick

B

Bramus!

When doubleclicking on the top left icon of a window (viz. next to the window
caption), it should close, not show the file menu. Many Windows users have
developed a reflex to use this handy alternative to the X button to close a
window.

This tiny little feature will greatly increase usability, since many users
already have developed this habit.

Kindly,
Bram.

For some reason I thought this was the Office 2007 forum. This is a
suggestion for the Office 2007 suite that does not allow double-clicking the
upper left hand corner to close the program.

Somehow I thought that too ... this is the Office 2007 forum, accessed by
clicking "help" > "Contact Us" ::: "Make a suggestion" ;)

And yes, I'm referring to all programs in the Office 2007 suite, where one
is editing a file. Outlook itself for example still has this functionality,
but when composing a new message, the functionality is gone: the top left
icon has become one very large button which holds the file menu.

Regards,
Bram.

Actually this isn't even a "forum" but the Office.misc user newsgroup
hosted on the Microsoft news servers. We as users help other users with
all versions of Office going back to Office for Windows 95.

Right, so this is a newsgroup for all Office versions.

Anyways, the point is when you open a document in, let's say Word 2007, you
cannot close the program by double clicking the upper left hand corner.
