Suggestion: Excel 2007- New Conditional Formatting Rules and Optio

M

Mr. Low

Dear Sir,

Thank you for allowing me to test drive the Excel 2007 at Office Online.

After going through the conditional formatting feature, I find that there
are a few lacking that I need to highlight to you for improvement.

Currently the formatting rules listed are mainly for a particular cell, for
formatting a row with certain unique criteria, the user still need to use
formula. As formula takes time to learn. To make this feature more user
friendly I would like to suggest for addition of new rules that enable quick
formatting.

These rules are :

1. Format entire row that one of the cell contains a formula
2. Format entire row that one of the cell contain a particular text.

It would be helpful to add Insert An Empty Row below the conditioned row.
Currently we oare only able to format Number, Font, Border and Fill.

With these new rule and option, formatting a Subtotal Table as illustrated
below would be much easier

Subtotal Table
A B C D
1 Area Product Date Amount
2 K252 654P 25/7/07 500
3 K252 247N 25/7/07 250
4 K252 987L 25/7/07 350
5 K252 Sub total 1100
6 P318 247N 25/7/07 470
7 P318 987L 25/7/07 380
8 P318 Sub total 850
9 F241 654P 25/7/07 220
10 F241 247N 25/7/07 350
11 F241 987L 25/7/07 260
12 F241 874F 25/7/07 380
13 P241 Sub total 1210
14 G018 663K 25/7/07 410
15 G018 664U 25/7/07 550
16 G018 141T 25/7/07 420
17 P241 Sub total 1380
GRAND TOTAL 4540

This new feature also helpful for making other system generated reports more
presentable and easy to read.

I hope my suggestion helps.

Thanks

Low
