Suggestions for notetaking on computer without OneNote

I love this program and especially love when I am in classes where I can use
my computer to put notes directly into OneNote. However, I have two computer
lab classes where my OneNote is not available. By the time I get home, I'm
too exhausted to transcribe notes. Any suggestions on runtime products that
can be used with OneNote? Or can it be loaded to a thumb drive?

I've read about a number of Pen-solutions which can be used.
Unfortunately do not remember any :-( :-(
Or can it be loaded to a thumb drive?

If you have a small portable HDD you may use "Ceedo" [1] with its "Argo"
installer.

This can also be used in a USB stick. But it has to be a super fast one.

In both cases the external device should be the main storage places for
the notebooks and be used shared on other computers.
This the automatic synching works.
And when ON is installed on a computer will be run from there (instead
if the slower disk/stick).
