Perhaps you should look at the "Orders Form" and "Orders
Subform" in the sample database "NorthWind" that comes
with your Access software. This has exactly the
arrangement you need.
The technique Microsoft use in "NorthWind" is to use a
TextBox Control in the Footer of the Subform to sum the
LineTotal and then the TextBox Control on the Main Form
simply refers to the TextBox Control in the Footer of the
Subform.
