Sumif?

here is my table:

Phone#..............................$

001-002-0004...................34.00
004-004-0065...................56.00
006-009-0009...................78.00
006-009-0009...................79.00

I want to create a summary table that will give me each phone numbe
and the total for that #

so that the 006-009-0000 = 157.0

Like Frank says try a pivot table, but if you want to use sumif try th
following

Assuming the list of phone numbers are in column A and the dollars ar
in column B. Create a list of the numbers you want to summarize dow
column D and enter the following formula in column E and run it down.

=sumif($A$1:$A$1000,D1,$B$1:$B$1000)
