Summary Tasks in My Timesheet View - MSP 2007

I'm exploring MS Project Server 2007 and have not yet found a way to display
summary tasks on the My Timesheet view. Is there a way to do that?

This is a good question that reveals an annoying feature of Project Server
2007. No, there is no way to display summary tasks, either in the My Tasks
page or the My Timesheet page. In fact, the only way to see the RBS for any
task on either the My Tasks page or the My Timesheet page is to click the
name of the task to display the Assignment Details page for the task. At
the top of the page, there is a Task Path field that describes the RBS, but
it is difficult to read.

Therefore, the best suggestion I can give you is to be very descriptive in
task names so that team members can distinguish similar-named tasks from one
another. Hope this helps.

Thank you for the reply. That answers the question. I know that you didn't
design the tool but I can't help but ask if you know why the summary tasks
are not available on the My Timesheet view. This seems like both a step back
from the 2003 version and even less user friendly. The reason I ask is that
I'm wondering if we are using the tool incorrectly in some way. Is there a
method to Microsoft's madness in making the tool function in this way?

I don't work for Microsoft, so I don't have any special insight into this
decision. Being an MVP doesn't give me a hotline to the product development
