Summary Tasks on Timesheet Views

Brian

In the MS Project Server 2003 view that resources use for entering time (My
tasks), the user has the option of displaying summary tasks. In the MS
Project Server 2007 version, the time entry view (accessed through My
Timesheets) does not include this option. For large projects, where tasks
with the same name exists within multiple project activities, the absence of
this option, makes time reporting difficult to the point where it is
counterproductive to track effort - i.e. the tool would not be useable. The
suggestion is to re-introduce this functionality.

If this functionality does exist, please let us know where to look.

I also found this improvement. Probably, Microsoft decides to cut task list
(summary tasks consume a lot of page space). Microsoft defines "Task Path"
parameter for each task (and other hierarchical objects)
Click on drop-down list of any task in My Task view.
Choose 'Add Note'. In Title you will see Task Path uncluding all summary
tasks.
If you click task name you would also find Task Path on top of the page
opened.
