superscript and subscript in REF and STYLEREF

I asked that question some days ago. Sorry for asking again, but its
very important for me (my manual contains 300 docs with about 15000
pages). Maybe my english was to bad to understand the question?

I'm using a STYLEREF field in a header. The corresponding paragraph on
that page contains subscripted text. The STYLEREF does not show the text
superscripted but just shows it in regular size like the other text of
the paragraph.

My only solution for that right now is: Using REF instead, where sups
and subs work correctly. But this is very much work because I have to
create textmarks for every desired paragraph.

Any other idea is very much appreciated.

Thanks.

Your English was perfectly fine, you just happened to post at the moment
when a lot of experts were away from the newsgroups, so it went unanswered.

I think you are just out of luck. I believe the StyleRef field doesn't pick
up formatting attributes (except for Hidden) by design. Maybe someone will
contradict me....

Make a feature request to [email protected] that the ability to choose
whether StyleRef picks up formatting attributes be added to Word in future
versions.

I was going to say, "Your English was perfectly fine, but no one knew the
answer. Or, everyone suspected that the answer was that there is no solution
but was hoping someone else more knowledgeable would come along and prove
them wrong!" Unfortunately, Dayo and I seem to be agreed that the StyleRef
field just won't do what you need. Interestingly (and frustratingly), the
only direct formatting that the StyleRef field *will* pick up is "Hidden."

Hi Pia,

If it's just sub- and superscripted numbers (say in chemical formulas), there may be a possible work-around:
In large Unicode fonts, you'll find characters for all of them (in the subset "Superscripts and subscripts").

Greetings,
Klaus
