Switchboard manager

Hi,

I've used Access once before and am creating a switchboard using forms. But
when i try to look at it in the 'form view' it kept giving me an error
message saying that one of the labels has the name of a macro that does not
exist. So i started on a new switchboard but now if i select the form view it
does not show me anything.

That darned Switchboard Manager creates a table named "Switchboard
Items" that must first be deleted before beginning a new switchboard.
Delete this new switchboard form and also the existing Switchboard
Items table. Then start again.

An easier (and better) solution would be to simply create your own
switchboard using an unbound form with command buttons. If you use the
Command Button Wizard to add the buttons to the form, Access will even
write most of the code for you. You'll have more control over it's
appearance, and maintenance will be easier. Plus you don't have to
work around the Manager's 8 command button limit.

Note: It's to your benefit to always include your Access version
number. Oftentimes, a reply to a question can be version specific.

Ah, ha... the Switchboard Mangler strikes again.

An alternative is to create your own Switchboard using unbound Forms and
Command Buttons... simple, straight-forward, easy, and it works very nicely.
No table, no "touch it and it may never work again"... a simple solution to
the simple problem of application navigation. The Switchboard Manager is,
IMNSHO, a complex solution to a simple problem and the number of questions
about it we see in newsgroups indicates to me that it is more trouble than
helpful.
