my main switchboard is "missing or misspelled" and I cannot open my database,
HELP!!!!!!!!!

Do you mean nothing come up when you open the database? try pressing F10 or
F11 to get the design box up where you can change the name or re create it.

Try holding the Shift key down while you are opening the database. This
usually bypasses the Start-up options and presents you with the Database
Containers window and standard MenuBar. You can the use the Menu Tools
/Startup Options ... to check / fix the Startup From.
