Switching back and forth between OS9 and X

Is there any way to use the same Entourage message and address databases on
a computer that I sometimes use in OS9 and sometimes in OS X? I can import
my messages from Entourage 2001 into Entourage X, but that's only a one-time
thing.

Thanks in advance,

There are two possibilities. Both involve using almost duplicate databases.

1. I don't remember if 2001 supports IMAP, but if it does, use that. (I've
never used it, so I'm not sure how to set it up.)

2. Do what I do. I use POP3 and leave messages on the server for a few days
-- long enough for the other version, my portable in my case, to pick up the
messages I want on both. I also set it to delete messages immediately if I
delete them in Entourage so that the other one doesn't get already deleted
messages.

I know it wasn't the answer you want, but it works.

Thanks, Keith.

I was hoping there was a way to use an alias so that Entourage 2001 and X
could refer to the same database files.

Option 2 is not a possibility right now, because there may be longish
periods when I'm not using one or the other OS.

I'll try IMAP. I believe 2001 supports it, but I don't have much experience
with it yet.
