Switching calldevice in Outlook 2003?

T

Tony

Hi all,

I'll try this one last time.

If I have several communication devices installed, how can I choose which
one to use in Outlook 2003?

I want to use Windows Messenger to make calls but when I try to call someone
in my contacts, Outlook uses the analog line, even though I have not
selected
it under connections.
Where can I change this?

Thanks in advance.

Dear Tony,

Thank you for posting here.

From your post, my understanding on this issue is: You wonder how to switch
to Windows Messenger to call contacts in Outlook 2003. If I'm off base,
please feel free to let me know.

Based on my knowledge, the Connect Using field under Dialing Options is set
to either IPCONF Line or H323 protocol. Outlook 2003 does not support the
full functionality of the Microsoft Windows 2000 Telephony Application
Programming Interface (TAPI) 3.0 driver. It only works with the Unimodem 5
Service provider and an analog modem device. So I am afraid it is not
possible to switch to Windows Messenger.

Please let me know if you have any other concerns or questions. Thanks for
your understanding and cooperation. Have a nice day.

Thanks & Regards,

Lee Li
