I bought office 2007 by downloading it to a new computer I have recently
bought. I now need to return the computer. How do I make sure I can still
have the program on the new computer, especialy since I downloaded it and
have no disk

You need to copy the full install file or files to a CD or
USB hard drive that you downloaded off the internet if you
can't download it again. I am not talking about the
installed program files in "Program Files\Microsoft
Office\....... Make sure you also have the install key
somewhere.

The only download I know about for Office is to convert a
Trial version to a full version or as part of MSDN. Any
other, IIRC, would be pirated software.

Just delete Office from your system (through add/remove apps form the
control panel) before you return it. But make SURE you have the KEY
written down...THAT is what you paid for.

When you get the new system...download a new trial version and use
your key to activate that one.

By the way...you might want to wipe the entire disk because if you
have any other information on there, such as ID, password, etc, that
information can still be located by a professional. In other words, if
you've used it for any length of time and entered any personal
info...F/Disk it!
