Switching from styles that use frames

A

amishb

I make regular use of Styles for formatting. Some of these styles make use of "frames," while others do not.

In Word 2004 for Mac, I was able to easily switch between frame-based styles and regular styles. When switching from a frame-based style to a non-frame-based style, the frame was automatically removed and the rest of the formatting applied appropriately.

Now, in Word 2008 for Mac, switching from a frame-based-style to a non-frame-based-style applies the formatting of the new style INSIDE the frame of the old style. I then have to delete the frame manually if I want the new style to be applied cleanly.

How do I regain the functionality of the previous version of Word?

Thanks!
