Switching HTM editor in I.E.

After reinstalling MS Office 2000, I discovered
that my default html editor is now Notepad
rather than Front Page. When I attempt to
run F.P. it reports a dll missing so would this
indicate a need to reinstall Office again?

Thanks, much.

Hi Digger,

It's possible that the installation of Office 2000/Frontpage is damaged and you may want to try running a Detect & Repair from the
Frontpage Help menu, but you may first want to try setting Frontpage as your default editor from within FrontPage.

"Has this helped me," you asked. Not yet, it hasn't. Resetting
from within Frontpage can't be done when you can't open
Frontpage because of two or more missing dll's.

Before attempting to reinstall Office 2000, I decided to download
Frontpage Express, hoping that I could establish it as my
html default editor. But not an option.

So, it's beginning to look like my only alternative is to reinstall
Office ... unless someone (hopefully) has a better solution.

Thanks for your interest.

How about a repair of Office.
And, perhaps the missing dlls are the reason that you can't set Frontpage as
your default HTML editor.
