switching to outlook 2003 from outlook 2002 in xp pro

I have an address book of over 3000 contacts and a
calendar with as many dates set for birthdays, etc

Will there be in data lost when making the switch to
Outlook 2003 from Outlook 2002?

If you're upgrading then there should be no loss of data. I'd backup my PST file first just to be safe. By default it's named outlook.pst and it holds all you outlook data. If you've moving to a new PC you can move this file and keep all you data from the previous machine.
