Switching Views and Viewing Date in one step

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: pop

Is there anyway to choose a date in Month or Week view and keep that date when switching to Day view? Whenever I switch views the calendar defaults to last Day view date chosen with View Date.
