+ symbol

I want to add the "+" symbol to text but when I type it and enter, I
lose the "+" symbol.

Example: +12 becomes just 12, I want to show the "+" symbol, any
ideas?

note that this will be text and not a number so you can't use
it in
addition etc without some more work

Actually, Excel will convert the string to a number, so it can be
used in calculations.
