Sync nightmare

Well after searching for a couple of years being afraid to take the
leap - I finally decided to try out PSTSync that seemed to be the
highest rated one on slipstick. I have spent the day trying to get my
Outlook 2003 to work again! I got a slew of unintelligible error codes
and then Outlook was broken.

It broke the link to my contacts, scrambled all of my rules (but
probably needed to clean them out anyway but I have a lingering
problem of trying to use the "find all messages by sender" - it says
it can't open the folders (inbox and sent)

And I can't really even tell if it worked since I started from a full
one way transfer using GoodSync. But obviously now I am afraid to use
it again!

I think I have my contacts fixed - what a pain, and I will rebuild the
rules as I go - but how do I fix the find all messages by...? I use
this feature a lot so I need to fix this. Do I reinstall Outlook -
will that fix it? I tried running Detect and Repair but that doesn,t
seem to do anything - it just says it's installing and then nothing -
am I supposed to do something else?

I want this so that I have my client emails with me when I travel - bt
also I want a copy of my sent emails to cleints and suppliers that I
jsut can;t get if I use webmail. I finally set up a gmail account so
that I cold use my outlook and send out of it - but if I can;t get a
copy back into the main desktop - I;m not sure all of this is useful.

Help - any road warriors out there with a clue for me?
