Sync smartphone with OneNote on Computer

D

Dave

Hello,
I am trying to share notes between my smartphone and computer. OneNote
mobile was already installed on my phone when I bought it (is a windows
mobile 6.1 phone). I have onenote on my computer and as I read through the
"how to" section it seemed like when I sync my phone a new tab should pop on
my computer OneNote to share files. I don't see that tab appearing. My
phone is syncing just fine with outlook 2007.
CAn someone suggest ways that I can get this working?
Thank you so much
DAVE.

Even though it is installed on the device, I would reinstall it from within
OneNote. Go to Tools | Options | Other and reinstall from that button.

You may be prompted about reinstalling the same version as the one already
present, but do it anyway.

After that, OneNote should appear among the sync options in ActiveSync or
WMDC.

Hi Erik,
I tried to install as you suggested. It seemed like it installed - my phone
directed me to restart phone to complete. However, it still didnt' sync with
the OneNote on my Computer. I tried to reinstall again, but my phone won't
allow it now.
The only tabs on my onenote right now are the one's it came with. "personal
notebook", "work notebook", and "OneNote 2007 Guide".
What can I try next to get this working?
Thank you so much.
DAVE.

There may be nothing to sync yet. Do you see OneNote Mobile as an option
under ActiveSync or WMDC?

To force an initial sync, go to ONM on your device, and create a new Note.
Put in that note some unique nonsense text string. Go to ActiveSync/WMDC
and let it do a sync. Then go into OneNote and search for that nonsense
text. It should now appear in the newly-create OneNote Mobile Notebook.

"personal notebook", "work notebook", and "OneNote 2007 Guide".

Do you really not have a notebook called "OneNote Mobile" in the
Navigation Pane??

I addition: Don't you have "OneNote Mobile" in the "Programs" folder of
your phone?
