Synching Entourage with Gmail

Guys does anyone know why my Entourage won't synch with Gmail? I
bought office for Mac today (2004 Student + Teacher Edition). Knowing
me I set up my preferences incorrectly.

can anyone shed any light?

Configuring your email client: Entourage 2004 for GMAIL


1) Enable POP in your Gmail account, by going to www.gmail.com and
sign in with your email address and password, click on settings and
then forwarding and POP and select the box to enable POP on all
accounts.
2) Open Entourage 2004.
3) Click 'Tools,' and select 'Accounts'
4) Click 'New
5) (If you receive the 'Account Setup Assistant,' click 'Configure
account manually.')
6) Select 'POP' next to 'Account type:,' and click 'OK
7) Enter a name for your new account in the 'Account Name:' field.
8) Enter your full Gmail email address ([email protected]) in the
'Email Address:' field.
9) Enter your Gmail username (including '@gmail.com) in the 'Account
ID' field
10) Enter 'pop.gmail.com' in the 'Incoming Mail Server:' field
11) Click 'Click here for advanced receiving options' in the
'Receiving mail' section
12) Check the box next to 'This POP service requires a secure
connection (SSL
13) Enter your Gmail password in the 'Your Password:' field
14) Enter 'smtp.gmail.com' in the 'Outgoing Mail Server:' field
15) Click 'Click here for advanced sending options' in the 'Sending
mail' section
16) Check the box next to 'SMTP service requires secure connection
(SSL).
17) Check the box next to 'Override default SMTP port:,' and enter
'587' in the box
18) Check the box next to 'SMTP server requires authentication,' and
click 'OK
