Synchronizing calendar and contacts Outlook to iPhone

P

Pete Zahut

A friend asked me to help but I don't use Outlook, nor do I have an iPhone -
so I'm hoping someone on either of these groups will be able to answer his
question )

He has a PC running Windows XP Media Centre Edition and an Apple iPhone3G
and wants to synchronize all his contacts and calendar between the two, but
can't find how to do it. Apparently, when he connects the iPhone to the PC
some software that came with the phone (is it called iPhone or iTunes or
something?) opens up, says it's synchronizing something, and then says
"synchronizing complete", but it only seems to deal with music, video,
podcasts and Apple iTV or something - definitely no mention of contacts or
calendars anywhere.

Can it be done, and if so, how?

TIA,

Pete

Thanks for the quick reply DL, I'll certainly have a good look round that
site. In the meantime, if anyone else has anything to add, I should say that
he has Outlook 2003, not 2007 - sorry for not pointing that out in my OP.

itunes should sync the iphone with outlook - check in tools, options, other,
addins and see if the apple addins are enabled.

Visit Apple's iPhone forum for Mail, Calendar and Contact issues at
http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1144 for more assistance.
