syncing content across notebooks

Hey guys,

I'm just getting started with OneNote, and I was wondering if there was any
way that I could sync content across pages and notebooks.

I was looking to use it as an extensive task manager, so that I could see
tasks assigned to different projects on one To-Do page.

My workflow (ideally) would be as such:

I would add tasks to one notebook (let's say geometry) in a unified list. I
would have a separate notebook where I would centralize all my tasks, and i
would have a live listing of the tasks from the geometry notebook on the side
in a separate box, or possibly even added to the central list with a tag.
These tasks would sync with outlook, where I could see them categorized by
their notebook name.

Is this at all possible, or am I dreaming?

I searched for this a bit more and I ran across the summary task pane. I was
looking for a way to do something similar except that it should be on a page
in onenote, live (synced up with everything else consistently), and pull
information across notebooks. Also, it should be customizable, in other
words, I should be able to select what notebooks to pull information from for
any particular list.

I realize that this is a lot to ask for, especially since this is so
specific, but again, that is my "ideal" workflow, and I am looking for
anything that even begins to get close to this.

It actually IS possible...but not with OneNote.

You could do that with Excel, pulling To-Do items from cells/columns in
other worksheets or workbooks and having it updated "live".

I wouldn't even mind sitting down to figure that out, yet I don't think that
would be useful, simply because the context that these tasks are in is just
as important as the tasks themselves. I'll try hyperlinking - which will add
one click and not allow me to see it in one place - but it's a start. Maybe
at some point they'll have hyperlink live previews or something.

I actually found a way to do what I wanted to do. I could use Outlook on the
Desktop to show multiple instances of my tasks, and then adjust the view in
each of those task panes to match up with whatever I wanted. The onenote
tasks have their relative notes attached, so i can just open up the
attachment to pull up the link. Almost exactly what I want.
