syncing Entourage and Gmail

Does anyone know how to sync entrourage and gmail? Am I the only one in
the dark here?

I am able to dowload and upload emails through entourage to gmail but
when I read a message online it still appears 'unread' in entourage
(and vice versa). This means I have to double open all emails - seems
crazy. Previously I had hotmail synced up to Entourage so that they two
mirrored each other exactly. How do I do this ? I am happy to transfer
to Mail on the mac but this has the same problem. Any answers? Move to
a .mac account?

Gmail only supports POP3 and not IMAP, so there is no synchronization. You
could set Entourage not to leave messages on the server so that they won't
appear when you use the web interface (Tools > Accounts > (Your Gmail
Account) > Options > Server options).
