Syncing HP ipaq rz1700 with Outlook 2003

I was able to sync my messages but not my appointments and contacts. I
deleted Active Sync and re-installed 4.5. Still can't sync appts or
contacts. The tech person at HP said it is a "microsoft" problem.

Does anyone have a suggestions?

Do you have calendar and contacts set to sync in activesync options?

Before I trusted HP support, I would check with the guys in the activesync
group on this server -
