Syncing Issue Between Palm Treo and Entourage 2004 error = #-1

It used to sync...Then one day...Poof! When I go to hot sync my Treo
and Entourage I get the following message in the hot sync log:

Before you can synchronize with the applications on this handheld
device, you must enable synchronization in the Entourage Conduit
Settings dialog box. For the latest information on compatibility
issues and solutions, visit the Office 2004 Web Site synchronization
failed
Entourage Conduit synchronization failed
"Entourage Conduit" failed (error = #-1)

I spent hours on the phone with Verizon and Palm --- both are pointing
to Microsoft. I've gone to conduit settings and made sure Entourage
Conduit was set, etc. Did hard and soft resets to the Treo, etc.
Moved any excess files from Treo to auxillary card, thinking perhaps
it's a memory issue...

Any ideas on how to get this working again?

Same problem for me.

I tried everything including reinstallting Office and resetting the Treo.

It works.

1. I removed ALL FILES AND FOLDERS on my computer with palm, hotsync,
conduit and transport monitor in the file and/or folder names.
2. I reinstalled the software from the original CD provided with the Treo
650 handheld.
3. In the small Window at the end of installation process I checked the
radio button ³find existing user² (or similar because I use the French
version).
4. I reinstalled the Microsoft software ³Handheld Sync installation program²
in the ³Microsoft Office 2004/Additional tools² folder.
5. I DID NOT INSTALL the update software in the Palm web site (4.2.1 Rev D).
6. With Hotsync manager, I configured the entourage conduit ³Computer dada
overwrites handheld data².
7. I tried to sync. I got an error message at connection.
8. I tried again and it worked.
9. it worked several times again.

Great !
