Syntax errors and coding

I am coding in asp and I continue to fight syntax errors when dealing with
variables. I have gotten books and searched the internet, but I have not
been able to overcome this.

Is there a site with examples of data syntax when dealing response.write,
sql coding, etc. that shows text, date and numeric variable examples?

I am using an Access db.
