System 'Crashed' User doesn't recognize Outlook...

System crashed, I re-started, logged in as user.

ALL of the files I stored on Desktop are gone. However if I search for
them they are in;
username/appdata/roaming (?)

Outlook however thinks it was never used/started.

NONE of my email is there, nor my folders (extensive), nor my rules
and alerts.

Can someone tell me if these are recoverable? Or did I just lose all
my email, rules, and folders?

I have *had* it with Microsoft. It is an unending supply of daily
frustration.

My goal now is to get my Outlook restored.

Then I am going to back everything up.

Then I am going to burn this laptop.

Then I am going to buy a Mac.

And never buy anything made by Microsoft again.

Any help appreciated (I can do the destruction stuff myself ;) )
