After preforming a Send/Receive operation in Outlook 2000, the tray icon to notify of unopened messages does not disappear after all messages have been viewed. The icon remains even after Outlook has been shut down. The only way to remove the icon from the systray is to end task on Microsoft Outlook. The Office package has been freshly installed, as has the Windows 98.
