In Powerpoint 2008 Home and Student Edition for Mac, presentations that were typed in an earlier version of Powerpoint cannot be edited nor can new documents be created with any accurate tab spacing. This occurs primarily with lists of numbers in columns, whether the tabbing for columns be left, center or right.

After 1 2/3 hours on the phone with the Help line, the problem was still not resolved. Viewing this website, I learned that Bob Jones promised a resolution to "Paul" on June 30, 2008 but I am unaware of any undate that corrects the problem. Please advise me where I can find an update that does correct this problem.

Hi Paul -
I haven't had an opportunity to test thoroughly but it appears you have
found a verifiable problem. My findings are a bit different at first glance
though. Center tabs seem to work OK as long as there is text typed on the
line ahead of the first press of the Tab key. Starting the line by pressing
Tab is what seems to trigger the faulty behavior here.
I'd suggest you use Help> Send Feedback to log it with MacBU. Describe the
steps to reproduce as accurately as you can. When I have a chance to check
it out further I'll submit one from this end as well.

Nowhere within it is there any *promise* of anything... Or anything that
even sounds like a promise of resolution. Nor is it within my capacity to
make any promises on behalf of Microsoft.

My only commitment was to escalate the issue, which I did. What happens from
there is something over which I have no influence.

Please get your facts straight before you defame others.
