Table Calculation In A Protected Form

Hi:
I was wondering if someone knew how to add-up a column of numbers in a table.
That's easy right. Well this form is protected.... When I try and run any
kind of macro or formula Word won't let me without unprotecting it first. I
could write a routine to unprotect then run the formula but when I reprotect,
all my data is lost. Any help is greatly appreciated.... Alan
