Table contents

I am being forced to use Word 2000 and I have generated a table of contents
along with my page numbers in my footer but the problem is that they are
grayed out but they print ok.

"Grayed out" is the appearance of footer contents when viewing on-
screen. There is no way to change the appearance of the footer, except
to view it in print preview, or to save as a PDF.
