Table Numbering are all odd numbers - fix?

Ted

I have 20 tables in my document. I've put a caption on
each table, but they are all odd numbers. The first table
is "Table 1-1", the second is "Table 1-3", third "Table 1-
5", etc. How do I get them to number properly.

When I want to insert a cross reference in the body of the
document [Insert>Cross Reference], under the Reference
Type "Table", I see two entries for each of my tables:

Table 1-1 Strategies
Table 1-1 Strategies
Table 1-3 Assumptions
Table 1-3 Assumptions
Table 1-5
Table 1-5

How do I get Table 1-3 to become Table 1-2 and have the
rest of them numbered properly (1,2,3,4,5,....,20)

Thanks in advance.

Ted,

It sounds to me as if you've got tracked changes in your document that
aren't being displayed. Display tracked changes and accept any deletions of
table caption numbering and you should be good to go. It is unfortunate
that Word counts these in its numbering even though they are marked for
deletion, but experience has shown me that Word does exactly that.

Thanks Chad! That did the trick.
