Table of Contents lines 'reformatting'

I have a table of contents being built from a series of TC
entries scattered through the document. Standard thing I
suppose, BUT

Though the TC entries look identical to the eye, when F9
is pressed on the TOC, some of the lines are converted to
all upper case and bold, while others nicely stay in
normal and upper and lower case, the latter being what I
want.

Any help please. Thesis due in twenty-four hours.

Select each TC field and press Ctrl+Spacebar to remove any direct font
formatting. I assume that the text between quotes in the fields is all U&lc?
Select the TOC and press Ctrl+Spacebar as well. I don't know what else to
suggest.

Dear Suzanne

Thank you for your suggestion. I tried that but it didn't
work; had to do things just a hard slog way instead.

I just wondered though whether you might be aware of
whether there is any way of submitting a document to
Microsoft for 'diagnosis' so to speak. I have just hit a
few more problems with this document in using a colour
printer for some of the pages and again some pages are
printing differently to others created in exactly the same
way.

I would really be intrigued to have someone look at this
file from the people who write Word because there are some
real peculiarities in it. My earlier post (early June
2004) re capitalisation problems on cutting and pasting
also relates to the same document.

I think it could really be interesting for them to look at
it from a product robustness and testing point of view.
